RSL Tasmania held its 111th Annual General Meeting and State Congress on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June 2026 at Country Club Tasmania, attended by delegates from 37 out of 43 RSL Sub-Branches from around Tasmania.
This annual event is a great opportunity for Members to meet and learn from each other, hear from a range of speakers, obtain information from State Branch and RSL Australia, make valuable contacts, and have their say on issues that affect them.
During the Annual General Meeting of RSL Tasmania held on Saturday 13 June, five Life Memberships were awarded for exceptional service over many years to the League and to the Veteran community in Tasmania, to: Melvyn Cooper, George Fikerle, Christopher Parker, Terrence Roe AM and David Paton. A 50-Year Membership Certificate was presented to Timothy Weir.
We were honoured to be joined by three special guest speakers: RSL Australia National President Peter Tinley AM, the Hon Gavin Pearce MP, State Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and the Hon Peter Khalil MP, Assistant Minister for Defence.
We also welcomed three of our partner organisations to speak about the great work they do to support veterans in Tasmania and in some cases from around Australia: Defence and Veterans’ Workshop, Veterans for Veterans Onboard MV Southern Explorer and Women Veterans Network Australia (WVNA).
