Welcome to RSL Tasmania

The RSL was founded in 1916 to provide comradeship and support to Australia’s veterans and their families. That core mission has never changed, but has continued to evolve to meet the needs of each generation of servicemen and women. We have a branch network that covers Australia and any veteran who needs help will get it – every serving Australian Defence Force member and veteran will be warmly welcomed at their local RSL.

We advocate for the best possible conditions for our serving men and women and for those who have served the nation in the past.

We foster respect and thanks from the nation for all those who have made sacrifices in Australia’s name and we will provide a strong voice on issues of national unity and security.

LegacyFlame Grevillea - Now available at Bunnings NurseriesIn 2023 Legacy will commemorate 100 years of voluntary service to the families of Australian Defence Force personnel who were killed or injured as a result of their military service. Across the nation, Australians will be given the opportunity to acknowledge this proud milestone in Legacy’s history. Many Australians recognise the symbol of Legacy its Torch and Wreath of Laurel. The Torch signifies the undying flame of service and sacrifice of those who gave their lives for Australia. The Wreath of Laurel with its points inverted is the symbol of our remembrance of them. One national project being coordinated by Hobart Legacy volunteer Suzanne Curry is a new cultivar of the plant genus Grevillea (suzannecurrydesigns@gmail.com). Grevillea ‘LegacyFlame’ has been specifically chosen to resonate with the symbology of the Torch as it has an abundance of long flowering red/orange flower spikes. It is being released across Australia between January - April 2023.The development of the Grevillea is for three reasons:• to give Australian’s the opportunity to thank Legacy by the purchase of the plant/s• to increase awareness of the work of Legacy• to raise money for Legacy’s families (a royalty is attached to every plant sold)Grevillea‘LegacyFlame’ is a compact, low spreading shrub, 0.5 metre high by 1 metre across. It is easy care, water wise, beautifully coloured, long flowering, bird attracting and will grow across most of Australia’s plant hardiness zones. It is low maintenance and small enough to grow in pocket sized gardens, rockeries or large tubs. It can be mass planted in larger gardens to great effect.#Legacy #LegacyTasmania #Legacy100years #LegacyFlame Hobart Legacy #hobartlegacy ... See MoreSee Less
